RPWD Act 2016 Implementation Review: Anuprayaas had the honour of representing the state of Punjab at , Northern Territory Consultation on the State of Implementation of the RPWD Act 2016.

This event, held on May 19, 2023, at the Seyfert Sarovar Premiere in Dehradun, brought together key stakeholders to discuss the progress and challenges in implemention across various states in India.

The National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP), the Latika Roy Foundation, and the Disability Rights Advocacy Group ,worked together to organise the Northern Territory Consultation as a collaborative effort to discuss RPWD ACT 2016 Implementation Status in 6 northern States.

 

Participants from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Delhi enthusiastically engaged in the event, providing important contributions that contributed to its success and significance.

  Anuprayaas is the only organization selected for the NCPEDP act 2016 event.which demonstrates our dedication to promoting the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Along with the inspiring Dr. Kiran, the first fully impaired Ph.D. holder and first Associate Professor of Visually Handicapped Sociology in Punjab.

The event focused on the status of the application of the RPWD Act, in each state as well as state-level policies . Initiatives aimed at empowering people with disabilities. According to the 2011 census, the state of Punjab has a population of 6.54 lakh, which is 2.35% of the state population.

 

 In 2022-23, 3,12,084 UDID cards were generated in the state. The government of Punjab has several programs to promote health, education, employment, and social improvement for disabled people in the state. Anuprayaas presented an in-depth study of each country’s policy and application status through the numbers.

Participants engaged in discussions shared best practices in each state, and identified areas for improvement to ensure that the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities are malpractices.

We are honored to participate in this event. we are committed to advancing disability inclusion and rights in India.

The NCPEDP event  was a milestone for disability rights and inclusion in India.
We look forward to making progress in this area for people with disabilities through our current efforts.
