Inclusive Education - Annie Smart Class
Anuprayaas Partners With Thinkerbell Labs To Work Towards 100% Braille Literacy. Our Technology partner, Thinkerbell Labs, has developed Annie- named after Hellen Keller’s teacher and Companion- Anne Sullivan. Annie is the world’s first connected Braille literacy device that helps visually impaired learn to read, write, and type in Braille on their own in the language of their preference.
Annie Smart Class is India’s first smart class solution focusing on students with visual impairments. It is a connected learning center empowered with interactive content and capable of remote monitoring & evaluation.
Annie Resource Centers
Annie Resource Centre is a modified version of the Annie Smart Class designed for inclusive schools and it enables teachers without special training to also cater to children with visual impairments.
Outcomes of this Partnership
With this partnership, we aim to give every visually impaired child in India access to quality Braille Education to kickstart their education and pave the way to employment and independence.
There are more than 500 blind schools and 6472 Block Resource Centers in India. We aim to improve the proficiency in braille among all the students and increase the efficacy of the overall education being delivered to them, in each of these centers. The solution shall also empower teachers with their ability to cater to more students, thereby reducing the strain on schools and administration to increase the capacity of special educators. Parents of visually impaired students will also be able to participate in their child’s learning without them needing to know Braille.
Braille Education in India
Nearly 40 million people in India, including 1.6 million children, are blind or visually impaired.
Braille is the script used to teach other subjects as well, Braille learning affects overall learning.
The current primary education tools include wooden blocks, marbles, and plastic slates, with continuous 1:1 teacher supervision. There is no self-learning component present in the current methods of teaching – the student is entirely reliant on the presence of a teacher. This has led to abysmally low Braille literacy rates the world over. The lack of special educators, insufficient STEM content in Braille, and lack of general awareness have contributed to unemployability and inefficient rehabilitation among the visually impaired.

Disability Inclusion broadly covers removal of all kinds of barriers including physical, communication, and attitudinal, that affects an individuals’ ability to have full participation in society.
Disability Inclusion Program For Corporates
Anuprayaas conducts these programs to empower corporate to create inclusive teams. The Program explores breaking the barrier of communication and learning the right way to help. We prepare the teams to work in an inclusive environment without any biases and ensuring the productivity to be maintained. We assist the corporates in Induction process for people with disability in the teams.
