What is Braille?
Braille is a set of six dots which when raised empower visually Impaired people to read and write. Let us share few interesting facts about Braille:
- Braille is not a language: The interesting fact is that Braille is not a language but a system of dots to represent other languages.
- Braille is named after its creator: Louis Braille, lost his eyesight in childhood during an accident in his farther’s workshop. He developed a code for the French alphabet using night writing which was a tactile military code.
- Braille there are three levels of encoding:
- Grade 1 Braille: Letter-by-letter transcription of a language.
- Grade 2 Braille: This system us used for abbreviations and contractions.
- Grade 3 Braille: Non-standardized personal stenography.
