1. What is Black Fungus? Black Fungus / Murcormycosis is a complication caused by Fungal Infection by coming in contact with the Fungal Spores in the Environment.The Disease is being detected among patients who are recovering or have recovered from COVID – 19. Moreover, anyone who is a diabetic and whose immune system is weakened due to steroids needs to be on the guard against this.
2. IT’S EFFECT ON EYESIGHT :
- The fungus corrodes through the nasal cavity and enters the orbital cavity (eye socket).
- The patient may complain of double vision, blurred vision or complete blindness.
- After a person has contracted black fungus within a day or two eye bulges.
3. Signs and Symptoms:
- Redness around eyes
- Fever and Headache
- Cough and Bloody vomits
- Sinusitis and shortness of breath
- Blurred or double vision with pain
4. Preventive Measures:
- Use a mask if you are visiting dusty areas like construction sites
